Everyday Companion/ Caregiver

Our training program for daily companions, based on the German AZAV (Accreditation and Approval of Continuing Education), aims to educate professionals who can accompany and support individuals with care needs in their daily lives. This training is specifically designed for individuals working in elderly care, disability support, or social work, or those preparing for such roles.

Objectives of the Training

  • Promotion of Independence: A central goal of the training is to enhance the independence and quality of life of individuals in need of support. Daily companions will learn how to assist clients in their daily activities without undermining their personal responsibility.
  • Provision of Specialized Knowledge: The training provides comprehensive knowledge about various life situations, needs, and challenges faced by individuals with disabilities or older adults. This includes expertise in areas such as communication, care, nutrition, and leisure activities.
  • Practical Skills: Aspiring daily companions will acquire practical skills to manage everyday tasks. This includes support with household management, accompanying clients to appointments, and organizing leisure activities.
  • Awareness of Social and Ethical Aspects: The training places significant emphasis on raising awareness of the social and ethical challenges that may arise when working with individuals in difficult life situations. Participants will learn to act respectfully and empathetically.
  • Teamwork and Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Another objective is to promote teamwork and collaboration with other professionals, such as nurses, therapists, and social workers, to ensure holistic care.
